Medically the two extremes are difficult. Mortality rates are higher. Vulnerability to disease is higher. Protecting extreme demographic groups has been a universal health agenda. As a note of caution for those moving along to read, I might sound unethical or cruel as I develop the debate.
The global goals are to stabilize the world's population, while some proponents of sustainable ecosystems have pondered on the reduction of number of human inhabitants on the planet. Ethically and morally, we are bound to improve the survival of infants. A country will be measured by the indicators of mortality of neonates, infants, and child less than 5 y. We are yet to embark on the rate of survival or years of survival of those 75 years and above as an indicator of the success of the healthcare of a country.
